The scenery is breathtaking with 3 active volcanoes. You get a volcanic, boiling mud pools and desert landscape mostly with the beautiful emerald lakes included. It is over 19 miles. Three days and two nights is the amount of time to do this comfortably in. The huts are on a first come first serve basis. So you probably want a tent to be sure and you can use the facilities of the hut.

Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

This is a high trail as you reach the summit of the highest mountain in Africa. You do need to take your time to get acclimatize to height to avoid altitude sickness. It’s a popular mountain to hike because you don’t need any special climbing equipment or skills to get to the top. You go from heat of the grasslands at the base of the mountain through temperate forests to a cold summit. If you want to hike to the top you normally start at midnight to reach the top and you will be walking for 16 hours to hike their and back from your camp.

Inca Trail, Peru

This is the most famous trail of South America. It is very popular with 1000s traveling it each year. It is a 20 mile trail made by the Incas hugging the side of mountains. You go from the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu taking in three ruins as well as jungle and alpine vegetation. It is at high altitude so you will need to take some time to acclimatize to it. This all adds up to wonderful natural scenery and manmade wonders in one walk.

This makes the list of many hikers to do lists. To do the whole hike can take 9 to 14 days, but you don’t have to do the whole thing and can hike parts of it making one of the trails that is accessible to all levels of fitness. There are stunning views including views of magical green valleys and snow capped mountains with glaciers and lakes thrown in for good measure. It is a safe trail with guts and French cafes along the way meaning you don’t need to carry a heavy pack.

West Coast Trail, British Columbia, Canada

Hiking through the Canadian wilderness is one of the most beautiful scenes that takes in rain forests, rocky coastlines and spectacular mountain peaks. You get the chance to spot sea creatures as well like whales and sea lions. And we haven’t mentioned the unbelievable sunsets and misty dawns.
